Since the inception of the Original Scribe
Company® at Harris Methodist Hospital in 1995, several programs
have been started both locally as well as nationwide due to the growing
interest in the use of scribes. Today, our original program employs
over 100 scribes and accommodates over 300,000 patients per year in
our Dallas/Fort Worth hospitals alone.
The most recent programs have involved training scribes
on the electronic health record, where the need for minimal interruption
of normal ED routine is a must and the need for computer proficiency
is not just advantageous but is demanded.
